Have a great weekend efurryone!

The picture below was taken just before Alfie Marshall nose-dived into the bushes after a small hornet type creature and got stung by his eye. His face immediately swelled up and Dad hadta rush him to the emergency room at the VETS ~ but when Dad got there the VET S was closed ~ so he rushed Alfie back home and Mom hadta bathe his sting with speshull medical stuff and give him lotsa TLC ’til he felt betterer. Then all evening he was cuddled and spoiled and petted. :sheesh: It was only a poxy little sting so I dunno wot all the fuss was about ~ but Alfie made the most of it by pawing at his face and sitting there pitifully wiv one eye closed! Mom kept saying : “Oh my baby boy wot did that norty vishus hornet do?” and then smooching him BIG time. That kid-bruvva of mine deserves an Oscar! No really, he does! :sheesh:

Of course I told Alfie he might lose his eye (tee hee) ~ but I was only teasing him! Then Mom said it was norty frightening him like that, and she fussed over him even more! Alfie can be such a wuss sometimes! I mean, it was a teeny weeny harmless looking little waspy thing … much smaller than Alfie Marshall. It couldn’t have been that hurty to get stunged by one!
This is wot a Hornet looks like:

Factoid: Hornets are wasps of the genus Vespa, closely related to (and resembling) yellowjackets. There are about 20 hornet species. Most live in tropical Asia, but the insects are also found in Europe, Africa, and North America, where the European hornet was introduced by humans.
Hornets are often considered pests, particularly when they nest near humans, because they will defend a nest aggressively if they feel it is threatened.
Love Milo xx

Poor Alfie Marshall! I hope he’s okay soon. But Milo, I think you deserve a treat for being his big brother. That’s reason enough.
Oh Alfie, hornets are seriously bad news and definately not for pouncing on. If you see hornets, go somewhere else! I hope your sting settles down very soon and you are ok.
Milo, be nice to Alfie please!
Uncle Wuudler
AAAAaaaaahhhhh! That hornet scairted me! Poor Alfie! I am so sorry you got stinged right on the face. That hornet was very MEAN and BAD to do that. Feel better soon, Alfie!
Poor Alfie! We have never been stingered by a hornet, but we have been stingered by wasps when we were littler, and that made us swell up. We don’t try to catch them any more because they are bad noos. A huge big hornet came in the kitchen the other day but mum caught it and dedded it. She said she had never seen one as big before. It was about half as big again as hornets usually are.
We hope your sting is soon better. We are off to vote for you again now.
What a pussy! You were the one hunting big scary dinosaurs.
I got stung on the lip by a wasp once, but that was kinda my fault ‘cos I was trying to nom on it.
Poor Alfie! Stings and a swelled up eye is No Good! I have to go back to my regular Vet today for a recheck. I think I am doing a little bit better, but Mom wants Dr. Dave to tell her that!
Oh, poor Alfie! A sting can really hurt! I’m glad his mama is spoiling him and kissing him up and trying to make things better.
That hornet looks really nasty up close — almost like a monster or something. It must have been terrifying for poor little Alfie!
Milo you should have some compassion because maybe it will happen to you one day, and then you will want lots of sympathy and cuddles, too!
Anyway, Alfie, we hope you feel better soon.
And Milo, you might want to take a look at the 3-D Cats blog because Domino has written a story about your relationship.
She sends you her undying love!
Alfie Marshall! Garden Cat in Training! You just suffered your first gardening injury. Injured in the line of duty to your garden! I think there are medals of valor for that sweet boy. Don’t let your Norty (but cute) brother give you a hard time. Hornets can be really bad news so you were very lucky. Next time when you see those awful beasts, paddy paw in the other direction, ok? Sending nose kisses.
Your Master Garden Cat furriend, Jonesie.
Oh Alfie! We hope you’re okay! That hornet is nasty looking! Mom is always telling us to watch out for bees and wasps and hornets…once I got stung on my foot…I stepped on a bee in the grass…and my foot swelled up a little…it hurt some, but being the tough mancat I am, I sucked it up…but of course, I let mom feel sorry for me and give me extra cuddles and treats…
Wally
Oh Alfie, what were yoo thinking! Dem stingy bugs is bad noos fur sure. Hope yoo is feeling better today. Milo, it is not funny to tell yoor little brofur he’s gonna lose an eye!
Poor Alfie! We’ve never been stung but there have been a few close calls when wasps and hornets got into our house (of course we chase them!!) Mom has gotten stung many times and she says it’s not any fun.
Big purrs from Franklin, Dobby, and Tasha
Poor Alfie! I been lucky, no stings ever. Feel better soon!

Dahling Milo,
Mommy did LOLs of you and me and put them on her LOLSpot today. The whole world is gonna noes about our love!
Your dearest and most faithful,

Poor Alfie, what a luck that it wasn’t worse ! Anyway Milo, don’t be jalous, it’s better to stay far away from these beasts !
Sending purrs and a kiss on the closed eye !
A hornet! I have never seen a hornet. I am glad that it wasn’t worse. How scary.
Oww, por alfie, that looks evil. I would not like to be stung by that.. I voted…
Hugs GJ x
Poor Alfie! Hope it is getting better now.
Oh Alfie, I hope your face feels better real soon. I KNOW how NASTY those flying bugs can be! I’ve gotten a sting or two in my day too! And, Milo, you should be nicer and give poor Alfie a little more sympathy too, I know it’s hard when your mom is giving your little bruther all the attention, but it will pass and then you’ll be back in the attention limelight too.
That’s so scary! Glad you’re okay!
Ouch, Alfie, that sounds very painful! Did your mama put some ice on the sting to make it feel better? It sounds like you got lots of cuddles, which is good, no matter what that norty (and jealous) Milo Marshall says.
P.S. We hope your Dad’s eye is doing better!
Aaaak! That hornet looks very scary. After getting stung by such a skeery creature, Alfie Marshall definitely deserved to be fussed over. I hope he gets better very soon.
I would have just fainted had I seen that hornet even looking at me.
Oh, poor little Alfie! We’re sorry to hear about that mean ol’ hornet stinging him and hope he’s doing okay today.
Purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
Oh poor Alfie – that is horrible. I hate all bugs that sting – you were very brave to chase it but sometimes being brave is not a good thing. And Milo, you should be nicer to your little brother on this one – hornet sting really can hurt a lot!
