Hai Efurrybuddy,
Many of you know that Vic at Zoolatry is fighting Cancer, amd Mom has just recovered from a bone graft last year (ongoing treatment afta being diagnosed wiv primary bone cancer many years ago) and dad is recovering from skin cancer he had earlier this year, and that mom’s beloved dad died of cancer a few years ago ~ and that some of our very dear friends (feline, canine and hooman-beans) have cancer, have recovered from cancer, or have died from cancer too. This makes us VERY VERY VERY sad indeed.
Well this October 2010 the LIVESTRONG community will be coming together to raise awareness of the 28 million people living with cancer worldwide—and we want yoo to play a part. Find out more HERE
The yellow LIVESTRONG wristband has become a universally recognized symbol of the fight against cancer. But that’s just the start.
This October 2, LIVESTRONG is trying make sure that—on every street and every trail, that they’re letting the world know that they’re ready to beat this disease. They want to turn some heads and join the fight against cancer by wearing yellow on LIVESTRONG Day.
So we wondered ~ would yoo consider wearing YELLOW on that day (it could just be a collar, or a ribbon, or a frock if yoo’re a gerl)? Or eating from a YELLOW dish, or playing with a YELLOW toy, or getting yoor mom or dad to wear YELLOW ~ or create a YELLOW pics of yoorself, or turn yoor BLOG as YELLOW as can be and tell efurrybuddy why? And would yoo HELP us spread the word PLEASE?

Couldn’t they have used a different color–you know yellow isn’t mine… but I shall have to make a note to do it (you know WHAT a sacrifice it is for me not to look my best…)
October 2 is our Bean’s wedding Anniversary (16 years!) and we will make sure they commemorate the day by wearing YELLOW!
Mommy’s Dad is a cancer survivor, and he’s still going strong at 75.

Sounds like a wonderful way to get involved in supporting cancer awareness. We have friends and relatives who are cancer survivors and also some who died from cancer – kitties and doggies too. Do you know the quickest way for us to get a yellow bracelet in the USA?

Our mommy and daddy lost a woofie and a kitty to cancer but thankfully no humans in the family have been affected with it although we have friends who’ve battled it. We’ll do something with yellow that day too!

That sounds like a great way to help raise awareness about cancer. My dad had inoperable brain cancer, which amazingly did not grow or spread, and he survived for many years before passing away six years ago. And my mom is a cancer survivor, too. We will mark down Oct. 2! Thank you, Milo and Alfie (and Mom and Dad Marshall, too).

This is such a good idea. Our Mom has cancer and is all right for now. So she will be glad to wear yellow and do a yellow post on Oct. 2. Hope it is all right if we copied your picture Milo and the graphic. We don’t know how to make something yellow. Hope we don’t get arrested for stealing. But this is such a wonderful idea. Our mom’s secretary and friend, Sue, is battling breast cancer right now so this is very personally important to us. She just started having chemo and radiation treatments. Sue is a very brave person and her attitude is wonderful.She is determined not to cover her head when she loses her hair and wants our mom to do something to help her decorate it (they still are not sure what they want to do – but will figure out something!)
We are so sorry that Sue is having to battle cancer. We will purr and purr for her.

Mom promises to wear her bright yellow shirt on Oct 2nd…and the rest of us will figure out a way to wear yellow. I still have my yellow paw band from the Tour de France post!
About my momma’s new catch phrase. Mom took the photo of my momma Ellie and I think Ellie put that thought in my mom’s head. So we want to make a side bar badge, with my momma Ellie’s picture putting the bitey on. We’d love that to be on everyone’s sidebar, but we have to make the badge first. I’ve lost three friends to cancer.
I’m ready to find a cure.
That’s a FABULOUS idea. Our mom had a thyroidectomy of her left thyroid lobe in July and it came back with Papillary Cancer and she has to go back in for more surgery on Oct. 15 to get the right side removed. Cancer is an evil, evil thing, We will defenitely pawticipate!!!

Wow! Great post and for a very worthy cause. Of course, we will participate in going Yellow. Cancer takes too many good people and pets way too early. It needs to be stamped out furever.
Survivors like your Mom and Dad are a testament to the progress that has already been made, but there’s still a long way to go, we know.
Domino has a yellow dress, and Dante has a yellow shirt. Now what do we do with Dylan who refuses to wear anything at all? We’ll figure it out.

Wow you guys this is so awesome! We will be doing pink in October for breast cancer awareness month at our blog (our mom’s mom died from that) but we will be sure to go YELLOW on October 2! Our dad has always been a fan of the LIVESTRONG movement (he is a huge fan of Lance Armstrong) and since our Grandmabean and Grandpabean both had cancer, and since our big catbrother Floyd had a form of it too, we support anything that is for fighting it. And our Grandpa’s birhtday would have been the next day so it is a good day for us too! This is so cool and such a great idea.
