SCROLL down for update.
Hi efurrybuddy, Alfie here!
Purrs are needed for Milo please. He had a nasty accident on Saturday and ripped one of his back claws owt. There was lots of blood and he spent the whole weekend feeling very sorry for himself. He wouldn’t let ennybuddy touch him to clean his paw up; he hissed and scraitched if ennyone came near, even dad hoo is usually his favourite. So mom and dad just made sure he was cosy and warm and left in peace an’ I wasn’ allowed to pester him play wiv him. He spent almost all the rest of the weekend on the bed under the floofy cover ~ and didn’t eat much at all. He didn’t even want treats! And efurry time ennybuddy went near him he let owt a plaintive meow. It was awful.
He’s gotta go to se the VET ferst thing this morning to see if his paw is OK and if he needs an antibiotic jab. I just hope the VET has got GAUNTLETS on, if he’s gonna touch that paw! He might need some BAND AIDS handy too. And protective GOGGLES might be wise. An’ if he’s sensible he will have insured himself against DAMAGE from a bitey.
Love Alfie xx
PS: I’ll give yoo an update when he gets back from the vets.
Milo feeling poorly:

UPDATE:
Hi Efurrybuddy, Alfie here.
Milo just gotted back from the VETS. The VET said that he hasn’t ripped his claw owt ~ he has injured his paw pad. He hadta have a pain killing injection, and he’s now on a course of antibiotics (that should be FUN ‘cos he doesn’t like tablets!). The vet said his paw will get better in time and there should be no lasting damage.
Milo also hasta have 500 milligrams of Evening Primrose Oil sprinkled on his food daily ~ as the VET said he thinks he has a skin irritation which is making his body twitch (he occasionally has what looks like a twitch or body spasm ~ but this weekend it suddenly went into overdrive. Dad was scared it was neurolgical ~ and mom and dad worried all weekend. But the VET said it’s not nerve damage or neurological and not to worry ~ he said it’s a skin irritation and it will get better). We’re not sure wot caused the skin irritation ~ and Milo doesn’t scratch; he just twitches and then seems agitated and licks the twitch. We think the stress of wot happened caused it to flare up this weekend. The VET said the irritation could have been caused by a bite from another animal ~ but since we never go owt alone we know Milo hasn’t been bitten. It’s puzzling.
Anyway ~ Milo is home now, and although he is still a bit hissy, he’s comfortable ~ and he’s had treats, and is snuggled down for a warm cosy sleep. Here’s a pic mom took earlier, when Milo was ready to go to the VETS. Can yoo see me on the left? I’m keeping an eye on proceedings, ‘cos I’ve been worried abowt Milo all weekend:

And here is Milo resting in his Den wiv sum speshull Alfie-Aids I gived him to help him get better:

Thank yoo for all yoor kind comments and purrs ~ Milo said they are helping him feel much better.
Love Alfie xx
PS: Sum of yoo asked how Milo was injured. He was owt walking on his lead in our garden, minding his own business, when from nowhere a BIG strange dog appeared and chased Milo. The dog must have gottted into the garden froo a gap in the hedge. Milo was scared and ran really quickly and dad (hoo was attached to the other end of the harness lead) could barely keep up wiv him! The VET thinks that Milo ran over a jagged stone in his haste and panic ~ and it cut his paw pad. Dad was cross that the dog chased Milo in wot should have been a safe space for him to stroll. Fank goodness Milo was on a harness and dad was there to help him.

Oh, noes, poor Milo! We are sending him lots of purrs and universal Light…and good luck to your mum and dad who have to get him into a PTU and to the v-e-t! Paws crossed for him, we’ll be looking for an update.
*Kitty kisses*!
Oh my goodness! Poor Milo! An antibiotic jab might be in order since he doesn’t want anyone to touch it. We’ll be purring and praying for him.
This happened to Snafu this summer with his many claws, one got ripped right out. It was awfully infected and stinky and took a whole month to heal up. Our best to you…
~Lisa Co9T
Ohhhh No!!!!! That sounds as if it would hurt bad so we don’t blame Milo for being grouchy. We hopes the Vet can help him feel all better soon. Healing purrs.
Bless heart, sweet Milo! So sorry to hear your paw got a hurty!! We purray the vet can make it all better tomorrow. (((HUGS)))
Milo, poor sweet baby! You must be in such pain for you to not let your daddy touch you. Our purr motors are revved up and working over time. We are hoping the vibrations will be felt by you and make your paw feel better until you can get to the v-e-t. Maybe they can give you a sedative so they can get a good look at it so they can help you.
Pee Ess. Alfie, if you want to teleport over, we’ll play with you!
Oh noes! We’re so sorry to hear that Milo hurt his paw so badly. We’re sending lots of purrs that the vet can make him feel better and it heals up soon. Many purrayers coming your way too!
Poor Milo! We hope the vet stops your paw being so hurty and then you will feel much better. We are sending you purrs for it to heal quickly.
I have to go to the vet today too because mum has found a lump on my jaw. She is hoping it is just a cyst.
Eric.
Poor Milo! I guess he doesn’t want a kitty to lick and make it better! So I will just have to send him lots and lots of long distance purrs and hope that the vet gets him fixed up (that is, if the vet lives through it!).
Oh, we are so sorry to hear about our friend Milo! That hurts! Did your parents see how it happened? We hope the vet is wearing chain mail from head to toe, because it sounds like Milo is in NO mood for silly vet visits.
We will look forward to an update. And you should both expect a parcel from us. Please let us know when it arrives, we hope you will like it!
xoxo
Poor Milo! Mommy sends you a thousand kissies to help you feel better. We are purring double-time for you as well.
How did you hurt yourself?
Alfie, tell your Mum to wear a heavy coat when she grabs Milo, and perhaps oven mitts, too!
We are all hoping the vet will make him feel better quickly!
xoxoxoxo The Horde & Mommy Trish
Poor Milo! We will purr for him lots. Since only Ducky has his hind claws we aren’t as likely to tear out a claw.
Aw, we’re sorry Milo is hurting. Remember last year about this time? I ripped out a front claw and it really hurt! But I did let my mom look at it and I hadta go to the vet. I bet a back claw hurts even more! I sure hope he’s feeling better soon!!
Ernie
Oh Noes! Poor Milo!! We shall purr here, Mom too.
We are so sorry to hear poor Milo is hurt; that sounds like a nasty injury…We are sending loud purrs for him to feel better soon; we hope the vet can help him to heal quickly with some antibiotics and maybe something for the pain…xoxo…Calle, Halle, Sukki
O noes! Say it isn’t so! Dommy is just beside herself with worry. She’s on her way over to make the trip to the vet with Milo. Even if they can’t hold paws, she can still comfort him.
We’re all hoping that Milo makes a quick recovery. It must be quite painful, poor little dear.
Keep us all posted about his progress, please. And expect Dommy to arrive on your doorstep very soon.
Oh no! That sounds dreadful. I would not be as calm about it and can picture showing up at the emergency vet bloody and scarred from nabbing kitty to bring in! Hope it all turns out ok. Poor baby!
Our paws are crossed for Milo, and we’re sending some of our (uncharacteristic for the breed) soothing and calming vibes over the pond.
It was great seeing that you had stopped by. We are finally getting Moma to help us BEGIN to catch up (only to fall behind again.)
Wishing you a good report from the vet, AND a great holiday season.
xxoo

Milo – we didn’t know about your extremely ouchie paw until a few minutes ago but we have started to sing our healing purrs for you. We hope the v-e-t has warm hands inside his gauntlets and suit of armour when he takes a look at your paw – remember to bite him if he hurts you.
Please ask your mum or Alfie to let us know how you are when you get back.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Poor Milo! I hope you are going to be okay.

Oh nooos Milo, that sounds very painful. We are sending lots and lots of purrs that you get better really quickly. Poor Milo and Alfie, it looks like you are keeping watch over him.
We love your header and would like to ask Mom if she did that with Photoshop. Mom loves that kind of stuff and is thinking about asking Santa for Photoshop. If it is photoshop, which version is the best??
Sorry Milo to get off the subject. We are thinking about you. Keep us updated. That bad dog. Take care.
Hi Marg,
Mom is not clever enuff to do photoshop stuff ~ although dad does some. The beautiful banner was made by Anne at Zoolatry and mom thinks if you pop over to her blog, she will give you advice on photoshop (‘cos she is kind as well as talented).
Zoolatry is here:

We are happy you do not need kitty-krutches. However, if the need arises, let us know… we’re sure, fursure, we can

Poor Milo! What a horrible ordeal you have been through! Hoping you will feel all betters real soon! (((HUGS)))

OH NO!!! We are so very sorry to hear what happend to Milo! We are sending lots of purrs and prayers that he feels better very soon! BAD WOOFIE!!! Maybe he didn’t mean to do it??? Anyway, Santa was watching him!!!

Milo, I hope that you feel better very soon!
Oh no! We hope that Milo feel much better really soon.
Alfie, would you like me to come over and help you nurse Milo? ~ Lola xxxx
We are sorry to be so late in writing. What a saga! We are so glad Milo’s paw will be OK. Tommy knows all about injuring his pawpads on jagged stones and sends gentle (he is a NICE woofie who does not scare pussycats) sympathetic woofs to Milo.
Poor Milo! Hope you get better soon. That Evening Primrose Oil sounds very good too.
That was a bad bad woofie who chased you!
Lots of smoochies and purrs from us!
Purrrrs, Keiko, Kenji, Pricilla & Yuji
Hi Milo, I just read the update and think it is terrible that a big dog scared you in your own yard!!! I’m glad that the vet has given you some pain meds to help you feel better and it is good that Alfie is looking after you
PS – Perhaps the skin irritation came from an insect bite as opposed to an animal bite?
Dear, sweet Milo, we are purraying that you will soon be A-ok again. xxxxxxxxxxx
I came back to check as I have been worried today. I am glad the vet was able to help. Poor Milo, having a dog chase him.Thank goodness your dad was there. You are being a good brother and looking out for him. I am glad it was not a neurological thing that was causing the twitches. Love to both. GJ xx
Oh no! Poor Milo! That sounds like a horrible experience, probably he was a bit hissy remembering the fright from the dog as well as hissy from the foot injury. Glad the v-e-t has treated the paw. Hope it will be better soon!
Dora is purring up a storm for him.
Kate and Dora the Explorer-kitten
Back to leave a hug for Milo.
Ouch! I just heard about Milo. I’m glad there is nothing serious wrong and that it will be better soon. Sending healing purrs to Milo.
Oh no Milo! We hope your paw is all better real. soon. So glad you didn’t get away from dad in the garden. Bad dog to chase you!
Poor Milo – I hope you get better soon. Orlando sends purrs.
Hi Alfie! We are so so sorry that Milo is hurt! We are glad he is on the mend but we still are so upset to read he is hurt. And oh your dad is right to be mad about the dog – poor Milo will be scared to go out there for a while we bet. We are sending him tons of get well purrs and prayers! We have missed visiting with you both so much! And that evening primrose oil thing is interesting – Lola twitches a lot and we had the vet check and he said that it is probably an irritation, definitely not neurological – but we didn’t know about the primrose thing. Can you ask your mom to email our mom what she is doing for Milo – it sounds so similar and it just is so weird that Lola has it.
Please give Milo some hugs for us!
Mom will e-mail you today.
Well, we sure are glad it was just a pawpad cut and not yer claw! At least that will heal. So we are sending big purrs to ya ta heal quick and comfy!
We get our antibiotics in liquid from a eyedropper. We still dont like it, but it is better than pills.
Glad Milo just has a cut to heal, probably better than losing a claw.
Do you know who or where the woofie belongs to? Are woofies allowed to run lose? Most places have leash laws for woofies.
We will continue to purr for Milo, mum sends extra scritches.
Oh Milo! What an awful experience! Anything that happens to kitty feet is very painful. We are glad your mum and dad got you to the vet. We are praying for a quick and pain free recovery.
How is your dad feeling? It must have upset him terribly.
We love you, sweet one.
We had to come back to see how Milo is doing. We think it’s terrible that some dog came and scared him but we’re soooo thankful that your dad had him on his harness so he didn’t get lost. We just wish he didn’t hurt his paw in the whole ordeal but hopefully he heals up really quickly. Give him hugs and purrs from us!
Thank you SO much for the update Alfie! We have been quite worried about poor sweet Milo. How awful, being chased AND hurt at the same time. We’d like to swipe that nasty dog (and his owner) a good one on the nose!
It’s so good you were on your harnesses.
You should market the Alfie-Aids. We think anykitty would feel better with one on.
Mommy sends BIG SMOOCHES to Milo, and a chin tickle to you Alfie, for your excellent reporting.
We are glad that Milo is home from the vet and very sorry that he was scared by a dog! We’re glad that Milo was on his leash or who knows where he may have ended up. We hope the primrose oil helps. We are purring for you buddy! xoxo
[...] Purrs need for Milo, who tore a claw out of his back paw this weekend. [...]
Oh goodness! We are sending Grete over right now!!!!! She will guard Milo and make sure no silly woofies will ever chase him. Grete is a good woofie and she would take good care of Milo. Alfie we could use some of those Alfieaids around here.
We never hear of primrose oil helping with skin irritation, but maybe we could get some for Jonesie, Ginger and Madison who have such trouble with skin allergies.
Purrs from all of us to speed to healing of Milo’s precious paw pad.
xoxo Cory
I am so relieved that it is an injured paw pad and not a ripped out claw. I strongly dislike people who let their dogs run around loose to cause this kind of mayhem. I hope that the primrose oil will make the skin irritation go away. I wonder if some kind of insect could have cause the irritation.
Poor Milo! What a mean dog. I hope Milo is feeling better now.
Sending our love and healing purrs to Milo, Alfie (for being such a good nurse), and Mom and Dad for having to give Milo those nasty pills.
Purrs,
Padre, Panda Bear, Meerkat, Cookie, and Caramel (& fosters Hunter, Sunny, Sky, Silver, and Rico)
P.S. Mom Here: Some cats will eat their pills in a food “Pill Pocket”, but we have not bothered to try those on our very cunning kitties.
You may already know this, but we recommend using a “pill popper” when having to give pills to a cat or kitten. It is a plastic syringe contraption that is about the size of a pen. You put the pill into the plastic grips at the end, and insert the pill popper into the cat’s mouth and click the syringe to release the pill. This way you don’t have to put your delicate chewable fingers into the cat’s mouth. Also, the pill popper is much more slender than a human’s fingers, so you can get the pill aimed for the base of the throat much easier. We got one from our VET. Good luck!
Milo, we purray the pain injection and other meds help you get better super quick!!!
We are glad that Milo’s paw will be okay and we will be purring for the skin stuff to get healed up and not bother him anymore.
Dommy is so relieved that Milo’s going to be just fine. She’s glad it’s not a claw that he lost because that could affect him for life.
Yes, it is a despicable thing that your kitty can’t be safe on his own property.
Something like that happened to Dante once, when he was on a leash in our front yard, and one of the neighbour’s dogs got loose and ran him up the tree.
Well, at least Milo is on the mend now. Dommy doesn’t want to leave his side for now. I hope she’s not being a nuisance.
Precious baby Milo. MUAH! Nose taps.
[...] Purrs need for Milo, who tore a claw out of his back paw this weekend. [...]
Just a quick comment really to ask if Milo’s paw is less painful for him now. Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH
