I hope that you will adore
this poem, all about a door.
A door whose rugged exterior is meant,
to speed-up my happy ascent!
A door that laughs at dogs all day,
as dogs can’t climb when dogs play.
A door whose top is in the sky,
Where clandestinely on ALL I can spy!
Until it does upon me dawn,
it’s a mile down to the carpet … erm … I mean indoor lawn.
But I’d rather be atop a door,
than sitting on the boring floor!

Alfie’s entry:
When I’m inside our cosy housie,
I like to play wiv my nip mousie!
I toss my nip-mousie in the air,
it falls to earth, I knew not where!
Altho’ my sight is sharp and true,
I don’t always see where mousie flew!
So I search for it, then quite by chance,
I spy it at a single glance …
Milo has my mousie and it looks dead,
as his teef are chewing off mousie’s head!
Oh dear, naughty Milo and woe is me!
Now I have two mousies when before I had three!

You guys are so good at this! I couldn’t make a good rhyme no matter what, and my human is even worse! Not only does the poetry she has written NOT rhyme, it’s totally dark and un-fun, sort of the antithesis of Dr. Seuss.
